Did you ever try it? Spreading flyers / folders for example? Or any other methods?

    Did it work?

I did, I used folders / cards to let people know about my website building business. It worked out a couple of times and it was compared with online marketing, very cheap

If you are serious about your online business, use offline marketing too.

I tried to promote my blog by mentioning it (and its link) on my visiting card.. I don't think I got any traffic from it

I have no more idea about it.But I think Host a business marketing forum and invite small business owners from your area to talk about business and marketing ideas that have and haven't worked.Build your own referral network of business professionals that you send clients to and receive clients from.

I still use offline marketing such as Newspaper advertising once in a while and it pays off.

I have tried Offline marketing for my online Tshirt business store. Unfortunately, I felt it to be failure giving flyers in various locations. Instead I should have invested on online promotions where there is enough customers for my product.

Ya!I think you are right here.Offline marketing can be problematic because it is very difficult to measure the impact that your promotions are having. Poster printing is, however, a great way to promote an event or offer and raise customer awareness, but it can also be difficult to assess the impact it’s having until the actual night or day that you are promoting.

It's only advisable for local market, what if I'm having a global business, though business owner should not set aside offline marketing.

Firstly I was in off line marketing in MLM but here you have to have meeting with people, face to face, motivate them, learn from experienced but online is totally different.
