Olivia how did your SEO efforts go? I'm not sure if you use Wordpress bu if you do this plugin is my favorite. It gives a lot of in-page advice and assistance. It is free and will help you optimize your posts and to learn on page SEO principles (stuff you can so on your own pages)... not to be confused with off page SEO (stuff like linkbuilding, submitting to social sites etc.)

You can try do-follow blog commenting, do-follow forum posting, Directory submission, RSS feed submission for your blog site.

SEO for blog would be about commenting into others website. These would help them to get a good quality of backlink. These backlink increase the blog visitor. Also try to do submit into technorati website which is very popular website at where the blogs are posted.

Back-links I found the most useful. Article submission, blog posting and commenting, forums commenting. Moreover, have original, genuine, authenticated & unique content, because back-links will only help you once or twice, but constant source is quality.
