the results when instant is off or on is just the same...

good point, result is just the same yet it'll affect the way of searching..i turn off my instant because i much like the google classic search

I also turned it off. When you just type a few letters it already shows lot of sites, while its not relevant at all

I don’t find a big difference.

It just saves a few seconds of time that is used to hit the "Enter" key

I guess, its great that you get some related keywords or search terms when you trying to search for something. This sometimes help us to find more appropriate information as it help us to search with almost all related keywords. Its a great help for average internet users. I love them and i never really type the whole search term when iam trying to search for something and i pick from suggested keywords.
