If there are 3 websites of same IP, shall i exchange links with all three?
some say that Google thinks of of same-IP websites as one unit only.
Is it true?

You can do it to make different websites in same IP to get back links between the websites.

Yes.. Google would count it one due to same IP adress so in my openion go with different IP adress for link building.

Yes Ron, you can do it... If you have your site link exchange page then do it.. it is good for your site. But make sure exchange link with as relevant site. check it bad link..
