    Buying a brand name and sticking a CLD on the end of it would be pretty silly, as soon as the brand finds out, then they will just take it off you..

    there was an instance of this..cant remember the domain though - they guy that bought it tried battling in court..and failed.

    At this moment there are 4 million .nl domains registered, thats an average of 1 domain out of every 4 persons living in the Netherlands.

    I own around 6 of these

    No ,maybe they are popular in its own country
    I do see some .co.uk domains,but it's not the main stream

    even i think the same, basically the idea is to use the domain on a site which is totally related to that country or to something related to that country specifically!

    It's up to you to decide whether you want to register your website through it but for me .com is the best for a lot of people use it than country domain name.

    They are localized, i.e, popular in some regions only. .co.uk is very popular in England and other United Kingdom areas.

    .co/.cc are among most popular ccTLDs i think.
