    Default Blog post ads

What do you think are the best places for ads in a blog post?

I see ads on top of them, at the left in the text, at the right..

Personally I think its best at the left of the content (so in the post) but its not really beautiful to see..

what dod you think and how do you place your ads in blog posts?

I think if you can find a way to make it look similar to the blog posts, then in between the posts can be good as I have seen a site that makes the posts look just like the ads.

It honestly depends on the type of ad. If its just Google Adsense I tend to put them center and in the middle of a post. Then again, I tend to write really long posts so the ads are pretty small in comparison.

on top of the post is a nice place to get clicks
if its a banner ad then below the post
text ads can be placed anywhere in between also and blending them as the color of the post often helps getting more clicks

I think on center of the post is a nice place to get outstanding clicks. And remember that matichng of color if your blog and color of the ads.

It has been established that it is the habit of people (the ones who read left to right) to look in the upper left-hand corner of a page first.

Thus, the gurus are recommending that the ads be placed in the "hot zones," i.e. where the eye tends to travel. The upper left corner of a blog post is where, they say, the big ad (the 300 by 300 square) should go.

Hoewever, Google has some very interesting pointers on ad placement in a blogs, here:

upper left corner in a blog post, thats a good spot yes! but it will ruin the overal view in my opinion! i don't place ads on sites without real traffic though!

The closer to a person's eyes, the more likely the ad is going to be clicked. However, since it is unappealing in the actual text and I'd rather have an image there than anything else, I tend to put my ads in the sidebar. It's close enough to the text, but not so close that it makes it unappealing to read. Unlike Nomar, though, I put ads on from the beginning. It explains to my readers that I am looking to make some money on my site, but my content speaks for itself. If the content is good, they'll come back no matter what. People are used to ads.
